MORE DETAILS

Hemel Hempstead Movie Makers have been in existence since the 1950s. Originally all the work was done on film, but as technology has become available for video production, and home computers provide excellent editing capabilities, most of our members use a camcorder and a PC.

We welcome everyone with an interest in making movies of all types - documentaries, drama, animation, travelogues, and community events. The club co-operates with local organisations working together to produce first class videos of local events.

Whether your interest is using film, camcorders, cameras, sound, directing, scripting, producing, lighting, projecting, animation, editing or acting, you will be welcomed. You don't have to be an expert, but you must have enthusiam for the projects. Sometimes working alone, or in small groups, members produce and direct films for our club competitions. Some individual and club films are entered each year into regional and national competitions, and we have a fine record of achievement.

The club has produced films celebrating the 50th Aniversary of the Queen's visit to Adeyfield, the 850th Anniversary of St.Marys Parish Church, the Leverstock Green Annual Fete, the building of The A41 By-Pass, the history of The Rex Cinema in Berkhamsted, and The Gadebridge Roman Baths dig.
